Convicted con artist who served nearly four years in prison for impersonating a German heiress and swindling banks and hotels, Anna Delvey, who was turned into a Netflix series, has just been confirmed as a cast member of the show Dancing with the Stars. The show is scheduled to premiere on September 17.

She will have to dance wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, a device with which she often poses in photos on her social media. Anna has been serving her sentence at home since 2022.

The official announcement shows Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, wearing a gold dress and the ankle bracelet on one foot.

As the New York Post reports, Disney-owned ABC’s press release “sanitized” Delvey’s resume, calling her “an artist, fashion icon and infamous New York socialite who gained international attention after Netflix bought the rights to her story.”

For some time now, Delvey has been using her notoriety to profit and remain a celebrity. Starting this Friday (6), she will be present at one of the New York Fashion Week shows.

In addition, the Russian woman often hosts star-studded dinners at her apartment, sells her artwork and has a podcast. She also appears on the American reality show “The Anonymous”, where participants have to lie to each other.
