Singer Gusttavo Lima, 35, claims that Globo is practicing fake news by showing a report that shows that his company, Balada Eventos, is suspected of money laundering and is being investigated in the same operation that arrested influencer Deolane Bezerra last Wednesday (4).
On social media, the country singer defended himself. “I’ve dedicated 25 years to music. You all know my struggle to get here. I will not allow abuse of power and fake news. I am honest,” he wrote on Instagram Stories.
The report broadcast on the show last Sunday (8) said that the company had R$20 million blocked, in addition to the retention of all properties and vessels registered in its name. According to the investigations, the artist’s company would have been used for money laundering in partnership with businessman José da Rocha Neto, owner of the company Vai de Bet, which he advertises.
The courts froze R$35 million of the businessman’s assets and R$160 million of his companies’ assets. In the same operation, an airplane was seized. According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), it was still registered in the name of Gusttavo Lima, but in the process of being transferred to JMJ Participações, a company owned by Rocha Neto.
Fantástico aired Lima’s defense on the matter. The statement states that the sale followed all legal norms and that the singer is not involved with any criminal organization. And that the plane was only sold to one of the companies under investigation.
