Responsibility. This is the first word that comes to João Guilherme Silva’s mind when commenting on the premiere of his program, this Sunday (15).

Present on the first day of Rock in Rio, Faustão’s son says that the new time slot was created by Band, and he accepted it very happily. “It’s on a traditional weekday for Brazilian TV and I thought it was incredible that the network saw me there. I’m grateful, of course, but I also have a lot of responsibility.”

João says that the new show is focused on the “mixture of generations” that brings lightness and entertainment. He says that he is 100% involved. “I choose the guests, follow the production, the content creation and often I also watch the editing. I am very connected,” he says.

He also denied the possibility of changing networks. Rumors suggest that he is being approached by Record. “I’m not going to Record. I’m happy at Band.”

João also said that his father, Faustão, is still recovering from a kidney transplant he had in February of this year and has been following the changes in his career. “He told me that I would see that things would change when my show aired on Sundays. Different repercussions, different audiences,” he commented.

The young man also said that he does not believe that Fausto Silva is thinking about retirement. “Look, he says he still wants to work. I don’t know what he’s going to do, but he wants to do something that is for pleasure, you know?”, he acknowledges.

He is the one who insists on Faustão returning to work. “Just the other day, I said: ‘Dad, you’ve done everything and you’ve already held all the records. Come back, but do something that makes you happy, that you like, that comes from your heart.’ I’m sure he will follow this path, if he has the health and the energy to do it, I’m sure it will be a success, especially personally.”
