American comedian, Bill Cosby, who was convicted of sexual assault in 2018, is facing new charges. More specifically, ten women have filed a lawsuit and again accuse the actor of sexual abuse.

In fact, a judge in Las Vegas allowed their lawsuit to proceed. That’s after Nevada last year lifted the statute of limitations on civil claims by sexual assault survivors.

US District Judge Gloria Navarro rejected Cosby’s argument that the law violated his due process rights.

Under Nevada law, there is no civil claim for sexual assault, but all of the women alleged that Cosby raped and drugged them. However, the women have also filed claims for assault, emotional distress, battery and false imprisonment, which are not time-barred under the new law.

Cosby has been accused of raping, sexually assaulting and sexually harassing more than 60 women, including several who filed lawsuits in the past year. He has denied all charges involving sex crimes.

The comedian was the first celebrity to be tried and convicted in his time #MeToo and spent nearly three years in a state prison near Philadelphia before a higher court overturned the conviction and set him free in 2021. Last year, a woman who worked on “The Cosby Show” in the 1980s alleged in her lawsuit that Cosby he had drugged and sexually abused her. The one-time “America’s Favorite Dad” has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 60 women. His conviction was considered a landmark in the #MeToo movement and the fight against sexual violence against women.
