With the release of the new Warner Bros movie, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’, beauty influencers wasted no time in creating a new Beetlejuice inspired makeup trend known as ‘Beetlejuice lips’. With Halloween coming up, it’s the perfect idea to create a fun movie-themed makeup look.

Beauty content creator, @_hello_adri, started the trend by posting a TikTok video of herself applying black eyeshadow to her lips, mimicking Beetlejuice’s iconic striped suit. The video has gone viral, reaching 40.4 million views and 4.8 million likes.

How to achieve “Beetlejuice lips”?

Creating these lips is pretty simple. You only need a bright colored lipstick or gloss and black eye shadow. Apply gloss or lipstick to your lips first. Once applied, pucker your lips until wrinkles form. While your lips are pursed, like you’re doing a duck face, lightly dab the black eye shadow. And ready!. When you smile, your lips should be lined, as @_hello_adri has shown.

Although the end result looks perfect, not everyone can achieve it, no matter how hard they try. The trend, while gaining more and more popularity, has left some creators disappointed with the results they got. Jeffree Star, known for his makeup tutorials, reviews and his own cosmetics brand, was one of the many beauty creators who tried the trend without success.

The comments under Jeffree’s video said that maybe it’s because he has lip fillers. Beauty creator @jacattack commented: “It’s because of the filler! I had my filler dissolved and now all my lip lines are back!” Another user commented: “Jeffrey, she doesn’t have filler so the lines are more pronounced since she can tighten her lips more.”
