Halle Bailey revealed that she made a major change to her diet – and lifestyle – while pregnant. In an Instagram Live recorded by “The Shade Room,” the 24-year-old actress revealed that she started craving meat while pregnant with her son, Halo, who she shares with boyfriend DDG. In the video, Bailey is eating and her 8-month-old can be heard in the background. After she showed off her cooking skills, fans started asking her if she’s still vegan. “And the answer is: not anymore,” she said. “And the reason is, I think I told some of you that when I was pregnant, I started craving meat.”

The singer mentioned that she was a vegan for 13 years. “I thought I should give my body what it wants right now because I’m working really hard to raise a human, and I also wanted to make sure Halo was getting the right nutrients.” And he added: “If I have a suspicion or a craving for chicken or something, I’ll eat it,” he explained. “But I don’t eat much meat.”

Bailey, who gave birth to Halo in 2023, has been candid about her postpartum health. “Before I had a child, I would hear people talk about postpartum depression and somehow I didn’t pay attention. I didn’t realize how serious a thing it actually was.”Bailey said at the time. “Now that I’m going through it, it’s almost like swimming in an ocean with the biggest waves you’ve ever felt and trying not to drown. You want to come up to get some air,” he continued.

Finally, Bailey explained to her fans that things aren’t always what they seem on the internet. “Even though you might admire certain people and think they’re celebrities and seem to have it all, you never know what someone is going through.”
