Travis Kelce, one of the NFL’s biggest stars and a player for the Kansas City Chiefs, seems to have bigger ambitions beyond the world of American football.

After winning the Super Bowl, instead of resting and enjoying his success, the athlete decided to try his luck in Hollywood.

He has already appeared on TV shows and shows such as “Saturday Night Live”, showing that he has one more talent.

“Grotesquerie” co-creator and director Ryan Murphy spoke at a press conference about his meeting with Kelsey and his decision “to get into acting.”

“We were talking about his future and what he wants to do after his sports career is over and I was kind of giving him fatherly advice,” the director said. “I always have a motto in my work. A star is always a star. It doesn’t matter in which field he is a star. If you have this gift, you will offer it in whatever you do” he added.

He described it as a “great” meeting and that at the end he told Kelsey, “I’ll keep you in mind and maybe we can work something out.” He responded by saying, “No, I want to do it now. I’ve got three months and I’ll really do anything.”

At the time, Murphy had just begun pre-production on the upcoming FX/Hulu series Grotesquerie.

In a script co-written with John Robin Baige and Joe Bain, the 10-episode drama series follows police officer Lois Tryon (Nissi Nash-Bets) as she investigates a series of crimes that have upset a small community.

“I have this role and if you are interested I will adapt it to you” he told Kelsey. Once he agreed and “I directed the first episode he starred in with Nishi, we loved him immediately. We took him by the hand and let him know that he will not fail. He was really amazing.”

He revealed that Kelsey worked with an acting teacher for “several months” before filming, which took place between football seasons.

“He showed up (on set) without the script. He knew everyone’s lines,” Murphy continued. “He was so professional and so dedicated. He kept telling me: ‘train me’…I would like to continue working with him on this and other things. He is the kindest and the sweetest. Everything you think about him is true,” he concluded according to Variety.

“Grotesquerie” is expected to premiere on September 25.
