Juliano Cazarré will be Jaime in “Volta por Cima”, a soap opera by Claudia Souto that premieres on September 30. In his third work in the period of two years —he was in “Pantanal” in 2022 and “Fuzuê” in 2023— he defends himself from criticism of those who continue productions.
“I’m a worker, like any Brazilian. I take two, three weeks of vacation at most and I’m ready for battle. Why rest my image if the bills are coming in?”, says the actor. A father of six children, he jokes: “I have a big family and I need to put food on the table. I can’t ‘rest my image’. There’s no way.” [risos]”.
Cazarré acknowledges having haters and swears he doesn’t care about the attacks: “Nobody likes to be attacked, but I’m in favor of different opinions. I know that some things I think are not what the majority of the artistic class thinks, but that’s okay with me.”
He denied suffering any kind of prejudice among actors. “I never noticed it and for me that is called maturity. It is a wisdom to live with people who think differently. What matters is character, generosity and respect,” he says.
Finally, Cazarré spoke about Jaime in the next 7pm soap opera. “He is a gaucho who lives in Rio de Janeiro, married to Tereza, who is played by Cláudia Missura,” noted the actor, who is also gaucho.
“A beloved, funny character, with a tone similar to that of a seven o’clock soap opera, which is a lighter tone. I think we’ll have a good laugh with him, he uses a lot of funny gaucho expressions and so on, it’s fun to do, I hope people like it too,” he concluded.
