National Games of Work Sports: The submission of entries is completed

The National Working Sports Games will take place October 11-13 and the submission of entries for those interested will be completed on September 27. The organizer is for the 12th year the National Organization of Occupational Sports.

For the first time, the focus of the games will be the National Sports Training Center of the Olympic Village, a sports facility which in 2004 was the “home” of the athletes who competed for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and has excellent sports centers. More than 1,500 athletes are expected to take part.

“The organization has become an institution. After the pandemic subsided, the response was huge from companies and organizations in the public and private sector. We have a dynamic increase in participation for both national and international competitions. It seems that both companies and employees have become aware and have prioritized actions that promote the health and well-being of employees, which is also a priority of the Organization”, said the president of the Organizing Committee, Spyros Karavoulis.

The competitors will take part in football, basketball, swimming, table tennis, bowling, road racing, chess, etc. The program includes a total of 14 sports, in which employees of companies, organizations and agencies, as well as individuals, can compete.

The National Games of Work Sports are one of the leading institutions in work sports in Greece In addition to the National Sports Training Center of the Olympic Village, games will also be held at the following facilities:

• Athens Beach Center

• Game On Darts

• Renti Arena Soccer Club

• Seven Sports Club

• Strike Bowling Center

For the first time, the event has included in its program the “Run 4 Diversity”, which is organized by the French Federation of Work Sports (FFSE) and is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. It will be held on 12 October 2024 at the National Sports Training Center of Olympic Village and promotes the importance of diversity, social cohesion and equality in the workplace, responding to the priorities of the European Commission for the integration of diversity in all areas of education, training and sports. Participants will compete in a 3 km individual walk and a 6 km pair run.

The National Work Sports Games are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religion & Sports/ General Secretariat of Sports, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Region of Attica, the Municipality of Athens, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens, the Professional Chamber of Athens, the Greek -The Italian Chamber of Athens, the Hellenic-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Athens Chamber of Commerce.
