The three-time Oscar-winning actor, Daniel Day-Lewisis returning to acting after a 7-year hiatus with Focus Features and Plan B’s Anemone, according to Deadline. Directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, and written together, the film explores the dynamics of family relationships. Alongside him are Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.

Filming is currently taking place in Manchester with cinematographer Ben Fondersman, award-winning costume designer Jane Petrie and set design by Chris Oddy.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with a brilliant visual artist, Ronan Day-Lewis, on his first feature film, alongside Daniel Day-Lewis. They have written a truly outstanding script and we look forward to presenting their shared vision together with the Plan B team.”said Focus Features president Peter Kujawski.

Universal Pictures International will distribute the film overseas. According to the Daily Mail, the famous actor was “caught” by the camera last Sunday filming some scenes of the movie. Having a mustache and wearing glasses, he was riding a motorcycle with Sean Bean at his side.

It is noted that in 2017, after his performance in “Phantom Thread” by Paul Thomas Anderson, the Daniel Day Lewis announced that he was retiring from acting. In 1990, he won his first Oscar for his role in Jim Sheridan’s My Left Foot, followed by two more for his performances in Anderson’s There Will Be Blood in 2007, and Stephenson’s Lincoln. Spielberg in 2012.
