Gusttavo Lima’s brother, William Lima, known as William Remelexo, 52, was not elected councilor for the city of Patos de Minas (MG). He only got 412 votes, which wasn’t enough. Interestingly, he had also lost there in 2020.

And Gusttavo Lima had a direct influence on the journey, as he financed more than 80% of his relative’s electoral campaign by donating R$20,000 to him.

According to information from Divulcand, a tool from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that shows each candidate’s fundraising, William raised just over R$23,000 for his campaign, with R$3,000 donated by the party itself, and the rest by his famous brother.

Remelexo had the support of Jair Bolsonaro as well as deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL). Both recorded videos asking him for votes, who is actually called Nilson.

Gusttavo Lima’s participation in his brother’s campaign takes place amid the investigation in which he is involved. The singer was indicted in September on suspicion of criminal organization and money laundering by the Civil Police of Pernambuco as part of Operation Integration.

The investigation targets an alleged criminal organization involved in illegal gambling and money laundering and is said to have generated almost R$3 billion. Lima denies the accusations.
