Actress Jenna Fischer, the eternal secretary Pam from “The Office”, revealed to her fans via social media that she has breast cancer.

Fischer, who is 50 years old, received the diagnosis last year and has already undergone surgery, 12 cycles of chemotherapy and three of radiotherapy.

In the post, the actress spoke about Pink October, a campaign to raise awareness of the disease. “In October last year, I made a post saying that I was going to have my mammogram, with a pun ‘a la’ Michael Scott. That test had inconclusive results and my doctors ordered a breast ultrasound. They found something in my left breast. I had to have a biopsy. In December 2023, I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer,” the actress wrote.

In January, she underwent a lumpectomy, surgery to remove the tumor, preserving the breast. “Luckily, the tumor was very small, was discovered early and did not spread,” she said. However, due to the aggressive nature of the type of cancer, the actress required twelve cycles of chemotherapy and three of radiotherapy.

She continues to be treated, now with other medications. “I’m happy to say I feel great,” she added.

Jenna also revealed that she lost her hair during chemotherapy and wore wigs to preserve her moment, as she is a public person.

“I’m making this announcement for two reasons: first, because I’m ready to get rid of wigs. And second, to implore you to get your annual mammogram. If I had waited another six months, it could have been much worse,” she said. .
