The American producer of daily drama series Edward J. Scott (Edward J. Scott) returns to his “home” in the series “The Young and the Restless” (Atithasa Niata) after 14 years of presence in the series “The Bold and the Beautiful” (Courageous and Charm).

Scott will serve as executive producer at Y&R. It has garnered seven Daytime Emmy Awards and has been instrumental in the evolution of the two series for nearly five decades.

He began his association with Bell-Phillip Television Productions in 1976 when he joined “The Young and The Restless” as an assistant producer. He quickly rose to the top and served as the show’s executive producer until 2007.

He then found himself on “Days of Our Lives” as a co-executive producer before returning to Bell-Phillip in 2010 to serve as supervising producer on “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 2010 to the present.

“Daytime TV is hard work,” his wife, Melody Thomas Scott, who still stars as Nikki Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” said at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

“Edward and I look forward to doing our part in continuing the successful tradition of the great American soap opera,” he added.

According to Deadline, The Young and the Restless was created by William J. Bell and his wife Lee Phillips and premiered on CBS on March 26, 1973, while The Bold and the Beautiful was written by by them and went on air in March 1987. In 2022 it celebrated 35 years of continuous airing having exceeded 9000 episodes.
