A Brazil National Team jersey signed in 2019 by football legend Pele was received by Paul McCartney.

Originally, it was to be given to him as a gift in the same year, but the meeting of the two legends never took place. However, Pele’s sister, Luiza Nascimento, and his manager, Pepito Fornos, in whose hands it came after the death of the famous footballer, looked for a way to deliver it. And the opportunity has come as the legendary artist is currently continuing his world tour “Got Back Tour”.

Shortly before appearing in his second concert at the Allianz Parque stadium in Sao Paulo, he received the shirt and posed for the camera with emotion. In a statement McCartney said that “will keep as a treasure” the gift left to him by the late Pele.

The concert he performed that night was his 39th in Brazil, the country where he has set the all-time record for ticket sales for an international artist. Key to this achievement was his 1990 concert at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana Stadium, which was attended by a record-breaking 184,000 spectators, according to NME.
