He states that he is addicted to his work and admits that he would go to a job even if he knew it would not be a good time
The career of the quintessential Kanaraki did not start with roses. He had to fight hard to get into a Drama School as for a very long time he was cut from everywhere. When he went to give to the State, even he did not believe that they would take him.
He revealed it while speaking on the show Kalimera Eipame? having a long discussion with Zoe Kronakis and Tassos Iordanidis. The conversation started with the two presenters asking him if he thinks the world has changed over time:
“I think a portion of the world has changed and the blinders are there and the edges are always growing. We certainly haven’t found the golden ratio. Everything new, everything that is going to be consolidated, has enemies. But it makes sense, that’s how races are won. But we are here to fight for everything. When the feeling is so strong, it can’t help but captivate you.
I felt myself changing the people around me because I made them laugh. When I was born, someone probably told me to make people laugh. I have sensed people who were not in a good mood, to change it for them.
This also carried over to my work, that’s why I’ve been doing comedy for years. And as far as my family environment is concerned, this humor was probably passed on to me by my family, they are immersed in it. I grew up with a lot of love. So, I think I carry those supplies. If I don’t change the world, I change the atmosphere” said Pantelis Kanarakis.

“They cut me off in the first years in drama schools. My folks were very supportive. I was expelled from the National, from the private schools, finally I went to the State. I went very relaxed, because I thought I wouldn’t pass. Out of the 800, 10 pass, so when I passed, I had to convince everyone that I didn’t have an average and my race was double” he said and continued:
“I think that in this life, what you want very much, you achieve in 70%. What you didn’t get is what you think you want. When I want it inside you screams, you have no hope of doing anything else. Go for what you want. And as the years go by, my dependence on the theater is huge. I love it with every cell of my being. I really need this job.”
While he then referred to his beloved friend Roula Koromilas saying: “Rula Koromilas is my good fairy – She opened the way to television for me” and recounted unknown incidents from his journey in this area.
