The… apple under the apple tree. Popular singer Duchess’s granddaughter, Angel, competed on Saturday night (19/10) on the set of The Voice, and managed to make it to the next stage of the competition, proving that she has her grandmother’s talent.

Giorgos Mazonakis and Elena Paparizou turned their positions, as the contestant performed the song “Who’s lovin’ you” in a unique way. The 18-year-old transgender chose to become a member of Elena Paparizou’s team.

In her introductory video, Angel stated among other things: “Heels entered my life from a very young age. I wore my mom’s heels and danced around the house. In quarantine I was trying very hard to find who I am, I enrolled in a dance school. I have so much support from all my friends and family, I love them all. They are the ones who told me to never give up, because this is who you are. And don’t let anything throw you, not even what people say. There are many people who have told me “I’m sorry for judging you before I met you” and that touched me a lot and I was happy.”

“I was born to sing, be on stage and show the world my art. I want people to love me through my art and for who I am. Music was in my life from a very young age, from the age of 4. Growing up and seeing different female singers, as a little boy myself, I wanted to look like them so I wore heels. Now that I’ve grown up, I think I’ve changed, I think I’m a very good performer. My mom is my number 1 fan,” added the 18-year-old.

“My grandmother sang, my father played the guitar, I sang, my sister sang,” she answered the coaches, while her mother backstage revealed to Giorgos Kapoutzidis that “Angel’s grandmother is the Duchess.”
