Javier and Penelope share two children, 13-year-old Leo and 11-year-old Luna. He himself admitted in his interview that he has learned to accept his flaws when it comes to fatherhood
Javier Bardem he is, admittedly, a handsome man. The 55-year-old actor was photographed by his wife, Penelope Cruzand in an interview with “The Gentleman’s Journal” talked about their love and their first acquaintance.
Javier and Penelope started dating in 2008, and two years later they got married. Detailing their first meeting, the actor said with disarming honesty: “She was 17 and I was 22. It was her first film, one of my first films. While trying on some clothes we looked at each other and I guess something happened. Something that has no explanation and goes beyond logic.”
Love-struck Javier Bardem said that while there was no romance between them at the time, they reunited 17 years later for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” which earned Penelope an Oscar for Best Actress.

“We realized that the feeling was still alive. Very alive. We both happened to be single at the time, so of course what had to happen happened. It also played a role that we knew each other before all this noise, before the success. And that’s the most important thing, to rely on someone because you really know them and they really know you. You see me, I see you. This is important”the actor said meaningfully.
Javier and Penelope share two children, 13-year-old Leo and 11-year-old Luna. He himself admitted in his interview that he has learned to accept his flaws when it comes to fatherhood. “I have flaws and things I need to fix. But being able to train someone is the most important responsibility. Are you guiding someone, helping to shape them, and how can you do that if you don’t educate yourself? If you don’t really evaluate who you are as a person? who are you And what have you achieved? What are our flaws? What are our virtues?’the actor wondered.
Javier Bardem recently starred in the Netflix series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story”which focuses on how the sons—Lyle and Erik—murdered their parents.
Last month, Javier paid a sweet tribute to his wife as they attended at the San Sebastian Film Festival. During the Spanish gala, Bardem – visibly moved – dedicated the award to Penelope Cruz and his family.
“And to a woman I love and shared a life with, I want to thank you. I feel grateful for who you are. About how you can be responsible for life, the life of your children, the life of your family, your mother, your friends, the life of others, the many people you don’t know, for whom you suffer and care and doubtless the life of this gentleman who is here, who loves you and thanks you very much for it.’ Javier Bardem did not fail to thank his two children for their support.
