John Lennon had sex with another woman at a party and his wife, Yoko Ono, was listening in, according to a new book. The incident was described by the couple’s close friend, Elliot Mint, in his new memoir, We All Shine On: John, Yoko, and Me, which was released on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

“Throughout the courtship, Yoko Ono sat on the sofa, humiliated and silent. And when the guests started awkwardly getting up to leave, they realized their coats were in the bedroom where John had sex.”wrote 79-year-old Elliot Mint.
According to him, John Lennon’s wife is a very stoic woman, but what she was experiencing was humiliating for 91-year-old Yoko Ono. Mintz claims the incident happened at a party in New York City where they were watching the results of the 1972 presidential election between Richard Nixon and George McGovern.
The late Beatles legend reportedly made out with the mystery woman after getting drunk and upset about Nixon’s possible victory. Mintz said Yoko Ono punished him and made him sleep on the couch that night. She later reportedly told Mintz that she could forgive Lennon for his infidelity, but she wasn’t sure she would be able to “ever forget”. It was not the first time that Lennon would have extramarital affairs.

He also had a relationship with their assistant, May Pang, for about 18 months. In the 2023 documentary, “The Lost Weekend: A Love Story”Pang claimed that at first Yoko Ono gave them her “blessing” to make it up, but she didn’t realize the hookup would lead to a long-term relationship. “Yoko came into my office and said, “John and I don’t get along. I want you to go out with him”. Little did Yoko realize that it was about to develop into such a long love affair. He thought it would be two weeks and he would be gone.”

Lennon and Ono married in March 1969. The dynamic duo were together until Lennon was murdered in December 1980 – aged 40 – by obsessive fan Mark David Chapman. The couple had a son in 1975, Sean Ono Lennon, now 49 years old. The singer has another son, Julian Lennon, now 61, with his first wife, Cynthia Lennon, to whom he was married from 1962 to 1968.
