Isis Broken, who plays Corina Castello in “No Rancho Fundo” (Globo), stated that Lady Gaga plagiarized her 2019 video “O Clã” in “911”, released in 2020. On social media and on the Splash Show program, from UOL, the actress and singer exposed the similarities between the two works and explained why plagiarism had occurred.
“It was a very strong and controversial clip. In fact, Lady Gaga plagiarized me”, said Isis about the work, which won an award at the Vitória Film Festival. According to the actress, one of the production’s costume designers had contact with a collaborator of the American singer and exposed the work. “He sat down, watched the clip and said ‘This is brilliant,'” he said.
“A year later, Lady Gaga made a video identical to mine. But it’s identical, right down to the camera positioning. It’s bizarre. Just watch it to see what the video is,” added Isis. The actress did not say whether the case became the subject of a lawsuit.
After the repercussion of her speech, she spoke on social media: “For me, it’s an honor, I love Gaga.” She countered the comments that disagree with the similarity: “There are people saying it’s the same ref [referência]. It’s okay to be the same ref, but I did it first.”
The clips “O Clã” and “911” are set in desert landscapes and feature alien references. Compare.
