For years, the Megan Thee Stallion is being bullied terribly by internet trolls trying to cast doubt on her account of the 2020 shootings, which she said left her with bullet fragments in her legs and anxiety. Now, with Tory Lanez in jail and misinformation continuing to flood social media, the Grammy-winning rapper is fighting back on screen and in court.
Her new documentary, “In Her Words”which was released a few days ago, has quickly become one of the most popular movies on Prime Video. The film was released the same week she filed a lawsuit against a YouTuber, whom she accuses of lying about her, cyberstalking her and circulating a fake porn video about her.

“There are a lot of women who are going through things and they feel like no one will believe them and no one will care, so they don’t want to fight and they don’t want to talk.”Megan stated in the documentary. “But I want to be strong, because I know that someone, somewhere is going through something similar.”
In the nearly two-hour documentary, Megan revisits the backlash she faced after being shot by Lanez during a fight in Los Angeles. She stated that she befriended Lanez after her mother’s death in 2019, as she was looking for friends who could support her while her career was on the rise. He was a rapper and singer who had also lost his mother.
Megan, Lanez and her longtime friend, Kelsey Harris, got into an argument on their way home from a party on July 12, 2020. The offended Lanez told Megan to “dance” before shooting her in the leg.

Megan – who embraces sexuality in her art, with twerking appearances and hits like ‘WAP’ – has faced misogynistic attacks and trolls long before the shooting. In addition to initially misleading the police, she denied having sex with Lanez, only to later testify in court that the two had a brief sexual relationship.
