The Japanese cruise magazine “CRUISE” and its online version https://www.cruise-mag.com/ encourage their readers on exciting trips to the historic cities of Greece, such as Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as on cruises leisure in the Aegean islands of Santorini, Crete, Mykonos and Milos for powerful wine tasting experiences under the brilliant Mediterranean light.

Saiki Manami who signs the related report is a travel writer and a certified wine connoisseur from the Japan Wine Growers Association. She visited Greece accompanied by photographer Hiroaki Tamura last June, through a familiarization trip organized by EOT, in collaboration with the Economic & Commercial Affairs Office of the Greek Embassy in Tokyo and Celestyal Cruises.

The occasion was the designation of 2024 as the Japan-Greece Year of Culture and Tourism, as well as the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In this context, the Embassy of Greece in Tokyo is taking actions to present our country as a travel destination, including the said EOT action which provides the opportunity for the Japanese to discover the beauty of Greece.

Hence the four-day tour of the beautiful islands of Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Milos. Both in Macedonia and Attica and our islands, the well-known author had the opportunity to visit a number of local wineries and taste the best varieties of wine from each region, gaining impressive themed tourism experiences.
