Gil do Vigor says that ‘all that’s left is to pray’ for Trump to pursue fair and correct politics

Living between Brazil and the United States, where he is studying for a PhD, Gil do Vigor spoke about Donald Trump’s victory for the Presidency. The Republican beat Democrat Kamala Harris and will assume the White House for the second time, despite facing criminal charges.

“It is important that we value democracy, unlike what he did in 2020, when he alleged fraud in his defeat to Biden. He has already announced that there will be the largest mass deportation, that he will close borders and has always been against immigrants”, said the economist in Instagram after the announcement.

The former BBB discussed the vote and said it was interesting that in the four states with the highest proportion of foreigners (California, Florida, New York and New Jersey), Trump only won Florida. “Which, in fact, has the highest proportion of Brazilians.”

“Now we can only pray that he makes a fair and honest policy for the world. The United States has economic and global importance for everyone.”

One of the actions against Trump in court is the attempt to reverse his defeat in the 2020 election. The other is about the alleged illegal possession of confidential documents. Finally, there is the case currently underway in New York involving porn actress Stormy Daniels, for which he was already convicted in May of this year.

Gil has already been stopped at immigration upon arriving at the airport a few times. On Monday (4), he said he felt humiliated when he was detained for a few hours, just like at the beginning of the year.

“We remain firm in the purpose of the PhD. But it is not easy to be humiliated. That’s why I say, there is no better place than our land, I love my Brazil.”
