Argentine police are investigating the death of Liam Payne, in the country’s capital, in October. This week, authorities searched houses linked to three people investigated in the case.
An Argentine businessman friend of the singer, an employee at the Palermo hotel where he was staying, and who is suspected of having supplied him with drugs, and a drug dealer were targets of the operations, according to the Argentine newspaper La Nacion.
The artist allegedly used cocaine before falling from the balcony of the room where he was staying, on the 3rd floor. In addition to the drug, alcoholic beverages and clonazepam tablets (sold under the name Rivotril) were found at the scene. The former One Direction’s body left Argentina on Wednesday morning (6) to be buried in England.
The court also included the hotel, a coup camp and houses located in nearby neighborhoods and cities in the searches.
The newspaper states that the addresses are related to the three mentioned by the police, and that they became defendants in the case. The businessman is also being investigated for abandonment because he would not have been found after Payne’s death, even if his phone number was in the hotel register.
According to authorities, the singer was with two women before his death, who were believed to be prostitutes.
