Daniel Craig revealed that he has no interest in who takes on the role of James Bond in the sequel film series.

Craig first played the role of the iconic secret agent in 2006’s Casino Royale, starring in several films before being killed off in 2021’s No Time To Die, co-starring Rami Malek and co-starring Ana de Armas and Leah Seidu.

Last year, James Bond film series producer Greg Wilson confirmed that while a new film would be released, it was not currently in development. “It’s going to take some time you know, it’s a whole new reinvention. So it will take some time” added producer Barbara Broccoli. “There’s a long, long way to go to reinvent him for the next chapter, and we haven’t even started on that.” he clarified.

The statements haven’t stopped fans from speculating about who the next James Bond could be. According to the producers, it will not be a new actor, because Bond is a veteran. “He’s not some high school kid you can bring in and start. That’s why the role is for a thirty-year-old.”

However, Daniel Craig has confirmed that he really doesn’t care who succeeds him as 007. Asked by Variety “Who would you like to see play James Bond?” Daniel Craig replied: “I don’t care.”

In 2022, his ‘Spectre’ and ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ co-star Dave Bautista said Daniel Craig is more ‘fun’ and ‘happier’ since leaving the James Bond franchise. “You could feel he was under a lot of pressure. He didn’t look like the happiest man in a James Bond movie, but in ‘Glass Onion,’ he was the complete opposite.” he explained.
