In November 2023, the new film from the acclaimed director, Jim Jarmusch, quietly began filming. “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother”.

The film, which is described as a “triptych” explores three separate stories between parents and adult children. The story of the Father takes place in NE America, the Mother in Dublin and the Brothers in Paris.

The cast includes Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Adam Driver, Tom Waits, Charlotte Rampling and Mayim Bialik.

The director told France Inter radio station that the film has been submitted to the Cannes Film Festival, which is not surprising since four of his five recent films have had their world premieres on the Cannes red carpet. In fact, “The Dead Don’t Die” opened the gates of the Festival in 2019.

The project completed filming in Paris, Dublin and New Jersey in June and post-production in the fall.

According to World of Reel, “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother” is the Ohio filmmaker’s first film in five years.
