Netflix users experienced major problems during the live broadcast of the boxing match between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and 27-year-old YouTuber Jake Paul, according to US media.

The 58-year-old Tyson faced the 27-year-old Jake Paul in the former heavyweight champion’s first professional fight in 19 years, in front of 70,000 fans at AT&T Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys football team and broadcast live through the platform at 03:00 AM Greek time.

It is regarded as one of the greatest and most controversial fights of all time.

However, before the match, some fans took to social media and complained that they were having trouble streaming the match on Netflix.

A wave of reports about streaming video quality, “stuttering” in the Netflix image was also shown by the monitoring site downdetector.com, as at 9:30 p.m. (local time) more than 88,700 reports were made.

“If Netflix doesn’t fix this problem, this will be one of the biggest failures in the history of streaming TV,” one user wrote.

“300Mbps network speed, Netflix needs to answer for this, not advise users. The live stream is pathetic and they tell us to check our network? What a joke,” added another.
