Ellen DeGeneres is leaving the United States for good, according to international media. The 66-year-old presenter, comedian and actress has already moved to England, as “The Wrap” writes.

DeGeneres she is not going to England alone, but with her wife, 51-year-old Portia, and the couple reportedly have no plans to return to the US. In fact, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia are planning to put their Montecito mansion on the market.

A person close to the former presenter claimed that she and her wife are leaving America forever due to the election of Donald Trump. It is their own response to the outcome of the US presidential election.

The couple are now said to be living in the Cotswolds. The area is popular with celebrities looking to escape the hustle and bustle of London, which would make sense for DeGeneres and her husband. Ellen and Portia will have many famous neighbors. Stars with properties in the Cotswolds include David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Jeremy Clarkson and Damien Hirst.

Although many celebrities have threatened to leave the US after Trump’s election, most have remained tight-lipped… Stars like Cher, Barbra Streisand, Sharon Stone and Sophie Turner have said they are considering leaving the US. It remains to be seen in practice. Ellen DeGeneres was among the famous donors to Kamala Harris’ campaign. Also, she herself had many reasons for a new start away from her homeland. Her career was tarnished — possibly permanently — from accusations that she fostered a toxic work environment on the set of her daytime talk show of the same name, which aired its final episode on May 26, 2022.
