Outdoor photo exhibition for health in Greece, presented by the World Health Organization Europe and Athens Photo World, in the National Garden.

WHO/Europe, through the Office for Quality of Care and Patient Safety in Athens, in collaboration with Athens Photo World and the National Garden, are launching a photography exhibition focusing on health in Greece with the title: “Health for everyone in the foreground”.

This report, which will also be screened digitally during two important WHO/Europe events in December, namely the Meeting of the Minds (10 – 11 December) and the 2nd Meeting of the WHO European Quality of Care and Patient Safety Focal Points Network (December 12), aims to record snapshots and highlight health issues in Greece.

It is about one collective exhibition consisting of works by 12 contemporary Greek photographers which capture moments of daily life in the cities and in the Greek countryside. The images reveal habits and traditions that, directly or indirectly, relate to health and well-being.

Issues such as nutrition, exercise, contact with nature, attention to daily activities such as driving, relationships with fellow human beings, environmental protection, mental health and the prevention of addictions and unhealthy habits, are only tiles of a larger one. frame, photographic and realistic, to upgrade health and quality of life.

The work of 12 important Greek photographers, namely: Michalis Varaklas, Petros Giannakouris, Dimitris Kapandais, Michalis Karagiannis, Nikos Karanikolas, Yannis Kontou, Maros Kouris, Spyros Bakalis, Angelos Barai, Thodoris Nikolaou, Michalis Pappa and Dimitris Tosidis.
The editing and selection of the images, as well as the accompanying texts, were carried out by the Athens Photo World team (Thanasis Stavrakis, Yiannis Kolesidis, Christina Kalligiannis and Vangelis Tatsis) in collaboration with the Head of the WHO Office in Athens, Dr. João Breda , and his team. The recording of simple habits of everyday life, the repetition or avoidance of which can contribute to the improvement of the individual and collective future, was the main goal of this effort.
