Cher did not particularly like the late director, Peter Bogdanovichwith whom he collaborated in the 1985 film Mask.

Cher, 78, called the now-deceased director “arrogant” during an interview with The Times. The feelings seem to have been mutual, as Peter Bogdanovich previously described her as the most difficult actress he had ever worked with.

The singer recalled Bogdanovic asking her for suggestions on where they should shoot a certain scene. “And I say, ‘Well, the kitchen works pretty well, why don’t we do this again?'”Cher recalled, adding, “the next morning he arrives on set eating an egg sandwich and starts screaming that he’s not going to let me direct this movie – I’m nothing – he can ‘cut’ me at any moment. Oh yes, it was a pig.’

In 2019, Peter Bogdanovich claimed that Cher was the most difficult actress to work with, saying that she “doesn’t trust anyone, especially men”. Cher also slammed director Frank Oz, who worked with her briefly on the 1990 film Mermaids, saying she was the reason he was fired from the film.
