“Prince, can you drink some whey for me?” It is in this relationship of submission and “broderage” between the characters Iberê and Mavi that Jaffar Bambirra is gaining prominence in “Mania de Você” (Globo) alongside Chay Suede. Several scenes of the duo, especially those in which they exchange some kind of more affectionate contact, went viral on social media. Internet users began asking the two to become lovers, which has not (yet) happened — especially because they may discover that they are brothers.

In an interview with F5Jaffar says he enjoys the audience’s speculations and also the construction of the story between the characters. “I think this relationship between two friends, who also have affection, who also has affection, was really cool,” he says. Actor and singer, he also talks about the rise of his career with the soap opera.

For him, it’s good for the public to comment on the character — for better or for worse. “‘It means that the public is engaged, that they are enjoying, that they are watching. We always think everything people say is really cool.”

In real life, his passion is also in the soap opera. Recently, the actor confirmed his relationship with Gabz, Viola’s interpreter. “It was a really natural thing. We met and got closer, creating affection, until the moment came to be together.”

The recording routine doesn’t allow for many meetings in fiction, but when they work together, the two have fun. One of the situations was reported by Gabz on X: “I fought with my boyfriend on stage today. It’s very difficult to pretend that I hate him.” Jaffar laughs and says that the two end up having fun and enjoying “these few moments.”

The actor describes Iberê as a person with “many layers”. “He has his ambition, at the same time, he has this relationship with his aunt that is a little unresolved, but there is affection, there is affection”, he says.

And it is precisely these unresolved issues with his aunt, Moema (Ana Beatriz Nogueira), which remained pending when he betrayed his people and went to work for Mavi, that prevent Iberê from growing even further, according to the actor. “I think this causes lack, causes everything that makes him be in this place”, he says.

In any case, Jaffar sees “Mania de Você” as his greatest work on television and says that he is being more recognized on the streets: “It’s a time that a lot of people watch. The difference really is crazy. I’ve had a greater number of people talking to me, people commenting on the soap opera, recognizing me and talking about the character”.

Before the 9pm soap opera, the actor was part of some other Globo serials, such as “O Sétimo Guardião” (2017) and “Pega Pega” (2020), in addition to the series “A Vida Pela Frente” (Globoplay), in which He played the character Cadé and sang the soundtrack. What perhaps few know is that, in addition to being an actor, he also sings.

“I come a lot from MPB and have had a lot of influences from folk. So, my first album, ‘O Menino Que Nunca Amou’, has a lot of both,” he says, saying that he doesn’t choose one career over the other: “Usually, while I I’m recording something, I’m still composing or recording other songs.”

Many of the influences came from her mother, actress and drama teacher Nádia Bambirra, who passed away in August this year, due to cancer. “Being on set, playing this character, doing my work, brings her to my heart a lot. So, doing what I do is being with her,” he says, when talking about grief.

Jaffar says he grew up on theater stages and film sets. Therefore, it was natural for him to choose the path of art. “My mother was a single mother, so I was always with her everywhere.” “Being with her in these environments was something that made me mature very quickly. To understand what our job is, to understand what it is like to deal with all of this. With the ups and downs of our profession.”

In addition to art, he also inherited his passion for Flamengo. As a child, he dreamed of being a football player for the Rio team: “I was a child who literally came out of Flamengo, Flamengo shirt, Flamengo shorts. So, until I was about 10 years old, that was my dream.” “I go to almost every game at Maracanã, I like being in the crowd, I’m a huge fan. Since I was a child, I went a lot with my godfather.”
