The last film by Xuxa Meneghel, 61, was “Uma Fada Veio me Visitar” (2023), but the presenter is already thinking about a new project, which will not be aimed at children. She dreams of starring in a horror production. That’s right: a fan of the genre, Xuxa received an invitation to be the protagonist of a feature film that mixes suspense and comedy, directed by filmmaker Juliana Rojas.
In the film, still unnamed and with the script under development, Xuxa would play a vegan vampire. “I loved it. Juliana left it to my imagination. But my imagination is very fertile”, she says, excitedly, about the plans of the director, who directed her, together with Marco Dutra, in the unprecedented series “Tarã”, on Disney+, with debut scheduled for 2025.
Xuxa recognizes that she has reflected a lot on the idea. “I’m a businesswoman and I’m aware that it’s very expensive to make films. And a well-made film, especially a horror film, needs a lot of money, to invest in visual effects and good sets. It’s not cheap!”, she comments in an interview with Globe.
She makes it clear that she does not give up on overproduction. “So much so that the national horror films that are cool are more about the good story, and not the effects. Otherwise, we end up being left behind”, she commented on the need for high investment in the project.
