Peacock has released its official trailer “Lockerbie: A Search For Truth”, of the new mini-series, which is based on a tragic story, starring the Oscar and BAFTA winner, Colin Firth.

The Sky TV and Carnival Films production consists of 5 episodes and focuses on “the aftermath of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, which killed 259 passengers and crew and 11 on the ground in the Scottish city of the same name, just 38 minutes after takeoff.

According to the official synopsis, “After the disaster and the death of his daughter, Dr. Jim Swire (Firth) is chosen as the representative of the families of the victims who unite to demand truth and justice. Traveling to different continents and overcoming political barriers, Jim embarks on an unstoppable journey that not only endangers his stability, family and life, but also completely overturns his trust in the justice system.”

British actress Catherine McCormack stars alongside him, as well as Sam Troughton, Mark Bownar, Andy Nyman, Rosanna Adams and Gemma Carlton. David Harrower wrote the screenplay, directed and part executive produced by Otto Bathurst and Jim Loach. According to Deadline, “Lockerbie: A Search For Truth” is expected to hit the small screen on January 2, 2025.
