Will Euphoria return?
Yes, the 3rd season of Euphoria has been greenlit, with filming set to begin in January 2025. “We’re moving forward, I’ve read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving forward,” HBO content president Casey Bloys said last month. “I know the show is getting a lot of attention now because it’s created real movie stars who are working on different projects. However, we are progressing normally with the season, so nothing has changed.”
The “movie stars” listed include Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, with Euphoria being a turning point for the latter three. At the same time, the Hollywood strikes and the main cast’s scheduling conflicts further delayed Season 3.
When will euphoria season 3 air?
Season 3 of Euphoria is expected to premiere in early 2026. HBO considers the series, which is its fourth most successful original production behind Game of Thrones, The Last of Us and House of the Dragon, as a “foundational » of her schedule, and will therefore fit into the schedule without conflicts with other major productions.
“Our biggest foundations began to return this summer with Season 2 of House of the Dragon,” said JB Perrette, CEO and president of worldwide streaming, Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of HBO. “Then we have The White Lotus in the first quarter of February, followed by Season 2 of The Last Of Us in the second quarter, and a new, smaller-scale series of Game of Thrones in the summer. Looking ahead, Euphoria Season 3 will likely air in early 2026 and then we’ll be back with House of the Dragon Season 3. So now we have at least two or three big productions every year.”

What can we expect from the plot?
Season 2 of Euphoria premiered in January 2022, and it will be four years before we meet Rue and company again. HBO has confirmed that there will be a time jump to bridge this gap, meaning the cast will likely no longer be portraying high school students.
“One of the issues that Sam is thinking about is not being placed in high school anymore,” Casey Bloys said earlier this year. “That’s where it made sense then, but now, there’s a lot of discussion about where it will be placed in time and how far into the future. But I believe he has found an idea that excites him and is working on it.”
Season 3 of Euphoria will consist of eight episodes.

Additionally , after hinting at his off-screen death, Javon Walton (Ashtray) likely won’t be returning.
However, in July, Deadline revealed that most of the core cast will return for Euphoria Season 3, including:
Zendaya as Rue Bennett
Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard
Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs
Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs
Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard
