Nearly fifty years after her death, the unsurpassed tweeter continues to preoccupy audiences, journalists and biographers alike. What is the truth behind the myth? What was Callas’ relationship with the country she considered her homeland? Pavlos Tsimas talks to people who met her, who have written about her, who have acted in theater and cinema, who have heard her sing.
With research in Greece and France, the show attempts to shed light on unknown aspects of the important artist’s personal life and career, but also to make another “reading” of what is known so far: her artistic career that ended early , the relationship with her family, her much discussed personal life, her isolation and her death in Paris.
