She was just 11 years old when she was cast in the series which became a huge hit
Paris Skartsolias started his career in 2003 from the very successful series “The Cafe of Joy” where he played for 3 years Manolakis, the son of the Puritan mayor of Kolokotronitsi, Periandros Popotas, i.e. the television son of Harry Roma.
And he played him again in 2019 in the remake of the series, while from 2014 to 2017, as an adult, he also starred in the also successful series “Tamam”.
Speaking on the ‘Tea with Lemon’ YouTube web show, the actor spoke about starting his career as a child and how he came to be cast in the role:
“I met Haris Roma completely by chance at a show, he was sitting next to me and he says: you must definitely play in the new series I’m preparing. The truth is that at the time I didn’t understand success. They recognized me on the street and I considered it normal” revealed Paris Skartsolias and continued:
“The atmosphere on set was amazing, it’s a blessing to work with such actors. I went to school until 14:00, a production car was waiting for me outside, took me to the shoot at 15:00, finished at 22:00, came home and read and slept
I don’t think I was trapped in the role of Manolakis. At “Cafe tis Haras” I received 800 euros a month. At some point, the amount had already risen in the second-third season. For me then this money was the best thing. My parents kept them but anything I wanted, for example a PlayStation, I got straight away. I also helped where needed”
