Earthquake magnitude 2.8 on the Richter scale, centered in Agia Paraskevi, was felt in Attica, shortly after the 2.3 Richter earthquake that was felt mainly in the Northern Suburbs.
According to his estimate Geodynamic Institutethe epicenter of the earthquake was three kilometers southwest of Chalandrio, with a focal depth of 6.3 kilometers
The earthquake was not strong, but it has caused concern to the residents of the basin, as it was the second tremor in a few hours, while the epicenter is in the urban fabric, at a very shallow depth.
The 2.8 Richter earthquake was also felt in the southernmost areas of the basin, as well as in the center of Athens.

According to Efthymis Lekkas, president of the OASP and professor of Geology and Disaster Management at EKPA, who spoke to skai.gr, “the occurrence of seismic vibration in Agia Paraskevi is surprising, as the area is not characterized by large faults. Something triggered small faults and the earthquake occurred. Probably, other small earthquakes of 2.3-2.5 Richter will follow. The earthquake was strongly felt because it had a low focal depth. This is nothing to worry about».
