Singer Zeca Pagodinho, 65, decided that the time has come to take a break from his career. His last professional commitment will be on December 21st. Afterwards, he will dedicate himself to his family.
Until at least June 2025, Zeca will be away from the stage. His idea is to travel for an entire month with his loved ones, an international trip whose destination is still a secret.
The samba singer is the grandfather of Noah, 14, Catarina, 10, Miguel and Domênio, both 2, Martin, 6 months and Vittorio, 4 months.
The year 2024 was special for Zeca. In addition to the birth of two grandchildren, he was honored after the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro approved an initiative to give him the title of Meritorious.
State deputy Dani Monteiro (PSOL-RJ), author of the proposal, defined the artist as an “icon of Brazilian samba” and also cited his contribution as a philanthropist.
In November, the singer invited Bruno Mars to drink beer and visit the pagoda in Xerém, in Duque de Caxias, in the Baixada Fluminense region, in Rio.
“Speak up, Bruninho! You are officially invited to our pagoda here in Xerém. And you can come with peace of mind that there is plenty of beer”, said the singer in a video, while holding the drink in one hand.
