Singer Preta Gil, 50, announced on social media that the surgery to remove the tumors was postponed.
“Hi, my loves. Just to let you know, my surgery will no longer be today [domingo]and yes on Thursday, December 19th. Lots of kisses,” she wrote in a post.
Last week, she was in New York to talk to a doctor specializing in oncology treatment. That’s when the artist, undergoing treatment for the cancer she has been facing since 2023, said she would have a new surgery this Sunday (15) to remove the tumors.
Preta was treated for colorectal cancer last year, but the disease returned in August this year and progressed to metastasis in four locations: in two structures of the lymphatic system, known as lymph nodes; in the peritoneum, the membrane that covers organs such as the intestine, liver and stomach; and in the ureter, the tube through which urine passes.
According to Preta, the surgery that will now be carried out on Thursday (19) is very important for recovery. She asked her fans for positive vibes. “I don’t know how to do things in secret. I like to share things with you”, he added.
