THE Spyros Bibilas he is certainly active and versatile. He never gets complacent and never stops. -Did you ever imagine that the moment would come when you would be sworn in as a member of parliament?

“No, it had never crossed my mind, although from a very young age I liked to deal with the public. I treated it as something very normal, like something new that entered my life. I was moved, however, because I saw it as a vindication of what I lived through all the previous years.”

-Has your life changed as an MP? So now you have other privileges and financial benefits that you didn’t have before?

“The only privileges I have had since becoming an MP are that I don’t pay for a mobile phone and they have also given me a car, the costs of which I pay for. That is, petrol for my commute. Essentially, they have given me a car and nothing else.

We smaller party MPs give quite a bit of money to our parties so I don’t keep all of my pay. I used to make the same money from my work, which I have minimized because I don’t have time to do TV and filming, so I only do theater. The theater helps me to be good mentally.”

– Why do you say that, did politics exhaust you mentally?

“Not only politics but the many problems of the union and my personal life. My personal life is zero and not pleasant. Luckily I’m busy with everything I’m doing so I don’t think about her at all. It doesn’t concern me.”

-Is it true that you abstain from sexual intercourse?

“Completely! I am no longer looking for love, nor am I interested in intercourse. I have become so frustrated with people, their behavior, their dishonesty and ingratitude, and I can’t deal with their pettiness. I want to do my duty to make society healthier and for people to realize that they have made mistakes and ask for forgiveness. That’s my goal.”

-Why have you been hurt by people on a personal level?

“Because I had invested in the wrong people. And this hurt me so much that I don’t want to have any personal contact with anyone. I have friendly relations with many people, but personal relations with no one. I have closed the door on love for good. I am determined on this.”

-But love is our driving force many times…

“Love is a very beautiful thing. I’m now turning 70, I have many years of sex to do and I’m not interested. I still have such cool things to do like travel and write some books I have in the works. And of course I will never leave the theater, unless I feel that biologically I cannot cope. At the moment I feel very young.”

– Is it true that you will receive 14,000 euros as compensation from Alexis Kouya because he slandered and exposed you?

“More than 14,000 euros is to be taken from Mr. Kouya, because it is also the court costs and also while he was forbidden by decision to mention my name, he continued to insult me. I will take every legal action until I am fully vindicated. No citizen of this country, no matter how high he may be, has the right to insult another citizen without knowing who he is and without knowing what he has contributed.”

– Will this money go to the Actors Guild?

“First of all I don’t know if I will get them, because I don’t know if they will be found. There is an appeal by Mr. Kouya that will be heard in a year. So I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do yet. In another case where I had won money from a legal dispute, I gave it to TASEI for distressed actors”.

– Are you referring to the dispute you had with Giorgos Liagas and the lawsuit you filed against him for defamation?

“Yes. I took this money, as I had been vindicated. I won’t tell you the amount. Now we are friends with George. He resolved this misunderstanding and apologized. I hold no grudge against anyone, even those who have slandered me.”
