A memorial service was held at Magdeburg Cathedral for the victims of the Christmas market attack.

The ceremony was attended by families of the victims, emergency workers and government officials, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

As the ceremony took place inside, hundreds of people gathered outside the cathedral to hold a vigil, laying flowers and candles in tribute to the victims.

Far-right gathering at the instigation of the AfD

Over 500 far-right activists gathered to protest after the massacre in Magdeburg.

It is recalled that a 50-year-old Saudi doctor drove a black BMW he had just rented into the Christmas market in Magdeburg, killing 5 people and injuring 200 others.

Around 500-600 far-right activists gathered at Hasselbachplatz in Magdeburg, following a call by the far-right AfD party, according to Volksstimme.

German flags, as well as Russian flags, appeared in the square and banners bearing the inscription “Homeland and Remigration Now”.

Those who do not love Germany must leave Germany!the protesters chanted. “We are the people“, “We are bored” or “We don’t want asylum seeker pigs“, were some more of the slogans that were heard.

The Police intervened in a fight that broke out between two participants in the protest.
