Helô Pinheiro gets emotional when he hears ‘Girl from Ipanema’ in the voice of Seu Jorge

by

Helô Pinheiro was honored at “Altas Horas” this Saturday (21) with an interpretation by Seu Jorge of “Garota de Ipanema”, the song by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes that she inspired in the 1960s.

“I’m thrilled,” she said, after listening to the Brazilian music classic in the singer’s big voice.

The mother of presenter Ticiane Pinheiro recalled the story of the song, composed by composer friends who saw her pass by, in a bikini, in front of the Veloso bar, in Ipanema.

Then, Helô was praised by her daughter, who cited the internal beauty of Tom and Vinicius’ muse.

“She is a warrior, mother of four children, she always did everything she could to make our dreams come true. She deserves all the honors in the world.”

“I have a lot of love for others,” replied Helô. “I think that’s really missing.”

Helô also drew attention for the praise given to his son-in-law, journalist César Tralli.

“I have an intelligent, handsome, pleasant son-in-law, a great father, husband,” he said. “When I met him, I said: this time I think Tici will enjoy her life.”

Tici revealed that he heard the story of “Girl from Ipanema” from Tom Jobim himself, which was also told at home by his mother.

On social media, Helô received praise for her beauty at 81 years old.

“What a wonderful woman,” said one fan. “Her beauty is out of this world,” commented another.
