Friends and famous people took to social media this Thursday morning (26) to mourn the death of actor Ney Latorraca, 80, after having pulmonary sepsis as a result of prostate cancer.
The death information was confirmed to Sheet by Clínica São Vicente, in Rio de Janeiro, where he was hospitalized.
“We received with deep regret the news of Ney’s passing. His departure leaves an immeasurable gap in Brazilian culture. Ney enchanted generations with his talent and charisma, becoming an unforgettable icon”, wrote Ana Maria Braga.
“All the applause for the immense Ney Latorraca. There were so many incredible and unforgettable characters in cinema, on TV and in the theater. Among so many in this gallery, he starred alongside Nanini in the most successful Brazilian theater: ‘The Mystery of Irma Vap'”, he wrote the actor Mouhamed Harfouch.
“I think Ney was the funniest person I’ve ever met. Rest in peace,” wrote actor Marcelo Médici. “Ney beloved”, was what friend and actor Enrique Diaz wrote.
“What can I say about this great trajectory, this great companion? An actor with many resources. A talent that we actors have always known, we have always known. This news gives a jolt to our entire group. He was great, a giant among us”, he stated Tony Ramos.
“Rest in peace, Neyla. Imagine how much we laughed,” Astrid Fontenelle posted with a photo next to him.
