“With particular pride and emotion we watched the military parade for the anniversary of October 28. On behalf of the Republic of Cyprus and Cypriot Hellenism, I express my warmest congratulations to the Greek armed forces and security forces for their perfect presence. The glorious historical “No” of the Greeks is the most brilliant milestone in the modern history of the Greek nation,” said Cyprus Defense Minister Vassilis Palmas after the military parade in Thessaloniki.
“The Greeks stood tall against the forces of totalitarianism and marked the first historical victory of the free world, rightly winning worldwide admiration. For this reason, the anniversary of October 28 is a holiday not only for Greeks, but for all free people”, he underlined.
“So, paying tribute to the glorious heroes of the epic of 40, I express the gratitude of Cypriot Hellenism for the uninterrupted support of the Greek governments and the Greek people in the struggle that Cyprus is waging for the liberation and reunification of our homeland. Happy birthday to Hellenism everywhere!”, concluded Mr. Palmas.
