Who is Callum Turner, the ‘Harry Potter’ actor who got engaged to Dua Lipa

Together since the beginning of the year, singer Dua Lipa, 29, and actor Callum Turner, 34, are expected to begin preparations for a wedding soon. According to the British newspaper The Sun, the two got engaged during the Christmas celebrations and will take advantage of the New Year festivities to celebrate the event with family and friends.

Engagement rumors intensified because of photos published by the singer on her Instagram. With gift, pet and concert registries, a diamond ring stood out among the photos and caught the attention of fans.

They have been together since January. The couple were first seen at a premiere party for the Apple TV miniseries “Benders of the Air,” in which Turner plays the character John “Bucky” Egan. They were photographed together for the first time days later, having dinner with friends in Los Angeles.

Turner is a British actor and model. He is known for his role as Theseus Scamander, brother of Newt Scamander, in the films of the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise, from the world of “Harry Potter”. He also gained fans with the Prime Video TV series “The Capture”, in which he played Shaun Emery.

He also acted in the films “Rowing for Gold” (2023), “Emma” (2020), “Just a Boy in New York” (2017) and “Assassin’s Creed” (2016), among other productions.

Before becoming an actor, he was a semi-professional football player, but gave up at age 17 to begin his career as a model.

Callum was together with Dua Lipa’s family during the summer in the northern hemisphere (winter in Brazil), when she was the headliner at the Glastonbury Festival in England, and has also been to several recent shows, including one at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.
