Just outside of Manhattan, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden takes visitors on an eerie nocturnal journey
Christmas and New Year’s are “the most wonderful time of the year” for New York. The decorations on the famous boulevards, Central Park, Times Square and Rockefeller Center are unique – just like we see in Christmas Hollywood movies.
But just outside of Manhattan, in Brooklyn, there’s another spot that transforms into a magical setting at Christmas: Lightscape, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s after-dark path that takes visitors on an eerie nighttime journey .
This year, Lightscape hosts brand new artworks – light installations designed by artists from 10 countries.
Brian Thunder and Mandylights’ ‘Lantern Garden’ project is on display for the first time, with over 160 illuminated lanterns covering the Osborne Garden lawn.
Also on display is Ithaca’s ‘Winter Reflections’, a stunning light and music show covering the entire cherry blossom route.
