Marcos Oliveira, 68, an actor immortalized in Brazilian television drama with the character Beiçola, from “A Grande Família” (Globo), said he has an extensive list of professional projects planned for the year 2025. In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, he spoke about your current financial situation and professional schedule.
The year 2024 was not so easy for the actor. He was facing a financial crisis and received an eviction order after falling behind in paying the rent for his apartment in Rio de Janeiro. In September, Oliveira fell ill and had to undergo an emergency catheterization.
The financial difficulty began due to the absence of work since 2014 and worsened due to scams. The actor accuses a man of embezzlement in court. “While I was in bed after surgery during the pandemic, he took my bank cards, took a photo of me and made loans that today are close to 500 thousand reais,” Oliveira told Globo.
His lawyer, however, managed to recover part of what was lost and he stated that he was receiving an amount — without specifying how much. “As a result, not only did my name get dirty and my life was exposed, but I lost jobs that gave me the status I had”, he said in the interview.
But professional opportunities seem to have returned with a vengeance. Oliveira said he is involved in different work fronts.
In the song, he stated that he was doing the show “Outros Tempos”, with musician Daniel Ansor, in which he sings MPB.
In cinema, he said he had released three independent films last month. He said that, for 2025, he has an invitation to four other productions, one of which was filmed at the end of January in Rio.
“In February I’m planning to go to Portugal to film the pilot of a comedy series about an aristocrat who loses everything. I’ll play a lady in her sixties who, from being a duchess, becomes a housewife. I loved the invitation and agreed right away. I’ll stay for a few days there and then I return to Brazil, as I have a show to do in São Paulo, still in pre-production”, he commented to Globo.
According to him, from April to June, his commitment is to cinema. But, in May, while he is filming, he will be on show in the Northeast of Brazil with another show, “The Crazy Women of Copacabana”.
“My life will be crazy. Furthermore, I have invitations for projects in the pre-production phase that I cannot yet disclose until the contract is signed”, he added.
