Dona Déa Lúcia, 77, announced that 2025 will be her last year as stage assistant to presenter Luciano Huck. The mother of comedian Paulo Gustavo (1978-2021), who arrived on Domingão with Huck, on Globo, two years ago, revealed that she will retire: “I’m tired”, declared the singer.

She continued: “Next year I’m going to continue working on Domingão, enjoying my grandchildren, and then I’m going to retire definitively. Next year is my last year on TV”, she said in an interview with Quem.

Grandmother of five-year-old twins Gael and Romeu, the result of her son’s marriage to doctor Thales Bretas, Déa said she intends to spend more time with her grandchildren. “The energy is only for the grandchildren, and that’s the same until page three”, he joked, referring to tiredness.

Dona Déa Lúcia also spoke about missing Paulo Gustavo, who passed away in 2021 due to complications from Covid-19. “My year, like all others, has a tear always coming out, but it was a good year. I worked. Three things saved my life: my faith, my work and my family. So, the year for me was wonderful”, he concluded the singer, who became a personal friend of Luciano Huck. “He’s a dear, a great friend,” he said in a recent interview.
