THE Panagiotis Tsiakmakis is the replacement of Giorgos Bakodimos on the bench of Athlos Orestiadas, with the team announcing the start of the cooperation between the two sides.
The new coach has a difficult task ahead of him, as Athlos is tail in her ranking Volleyball League men with four points (1 win-8 losses) after the first nine matches.

“The administration of TAA AS Athlos Orestiadas announces the start of its cooperation with the experienced coach Panagiotis Tsiakmakis, who takes the helm of technical leadership in our team, in view of the Volley League season 2024-2025.
Born in Soufli on October 27, 1965, the 59-year-old Greek former athlete and current technician is a Graduate of TEFAA Athens with a significant contribution to the promotion of new talents from Evros and Macedonia. Known to the sports fans of Orestiada, with his valuable contribution to the field and to the volleyball of Evros, he returns to the Athlos bench again after 4 years, as from 2017 to 2021 he was the coach of our team in A2 Men’s and Pre League.
Earlier he had worked as a coach at AEK (he was also a player from 1992 to 2001), at Ag. Paraskevi (2003-2004 Second National Team), in Doxa Ag. Pavlou (2007-2008 Second National Team), in Megas Alexander (2008-2010 girls), in the academies of Iraklis (2009-10) and Aris (2010-11), in AO Orestiadas (2011 – 2013 A2 Category), in AO Chania (2013-2015 A2 Category), in AE Komotini (2014-2015 A2 Category) and in the women’s team of Evros Soufli.
The 59-year-old coach, in his first statements after taking over the helm of the team, emphasized: “I am happy to return to Orestiada and I thank the administration for its proposal. I take over the team at a difficult time and with the problem we are facing because of the pitch, to make the situation even more difficult. I believe that with hard work and with the help of the whole city, that we will manage to overcome the adversities and achieve our goals. I wish a good year with health, without injuries, with successes and joys for the people of Orestiada. The management welcomes back the coach and friend Panagiotis to the team and wishes him a good year with health and success in his work».
