The first day of 2025 brought something new for Meghan Markle’s fans. The Duchess of Sussex returned to Instagram after a nearly 7-year hiatus. In the publication, shared on a new profile, the actress celebrated the arrival of the new year with a video on the beach.
Her previous profile was deactivated in 2018 when she married Prince Harry. In 2023, the website Page Six announced that the actress had requested and received the right to use the user @meghan on Instagram. Meghan disabled the comments on the publication, but she already had more than 400,000 followers on the social network by the end of this Wednesday afternoon (1). She, however, does not follow any accounts.
In the record, King Charles III’s daughter-in-law appears wearing an all-white look and barefoot, running along the sand of a beach near her and Harry’s home, in California, United States. At one point in the video, she crouches down to write “2025”.
Some internet users quickly questioned Prince Harry’s absence in the video, but, according to a North American portal, the person filming Meghan was her husband himself. Her decision to return to the social network reflects her desire to use the platform to reconnect with global communities and promote initiatives through projects like the Archewell Foundation, which she and Harry launched in 2020.
