Right foot for the subversive Arsenal and second place!

by

Arsenal entered the new year in an ideal way! Mikel Arteta’s team prevailed 3-1 with a reversal Bradford in the last match of her 19th season Premier League and returned to second place, at -6 from Liverpoolwhich however has one match less.

Arsenal came in looking to control the match early on, with the Bradford but to strike, as is her wont, at her first opportunity, by means of a counter-attack. THE Mikel Damsgaard made a vertical pass and o Brian Empemo beat David Raya with a curling left-footed shot into the box in the 13th minute to make it 1-0 to the home side.

The “gunners” almost conceded a second goal in a great opportunity by Brentford, but eventually they leveled the match, with Gabriel Jesus to take the rebound from Flecken’s save in his shot Thomas Partey and to write 1-1 with a comfortable head.

The turnaround was completed with a hot third in the second half. Initially in the 50′ with his shot Mikel Merino from the height of the small area after (yet another) corner, and then in 53′ with Gabriel Martinelli to catch an amazing right-footed shot from outside the area for the final 3-1. From then on, the hosts had no reaction and Arsenal continued to… chase the leaders.
